Short Facts about Phuket Phuket (ภูเก็ต in Thai) is the largest island in Thailand and it measures 543 km². The island is also it's own province since 1993, also named Phuket. The largest city on the island is Phuket City which got it's city status in 2004. The prior name was Phuket Town. The main income sources are tourism and rubber trees.
